I know we’re all completely underwhelmed that a new franchise has set up shop in Fresno, but you know what they say – if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em! Pieology is too fun to pass up.
As part of my lifelong quest to locate the best pizza within a ten mile radius, I suited up to try the newest pizza place in town: Pieology. This chain boasts fresh ingredients and made-to-order pies fired under an open flame.
They’ve clearly taken a page from Chipotle and discovered that there are few places Americans enjoy exercising their freedoms and liberty more than a lunch time assembly line. But, friends, even here there are rules. Don’t be this guy.
From sauce (fresh herb butter or marinara?) to cheeses (parmesean? ricotta?) to gourmet toppings, there are more combinations than even I can hope to explore at Pieology.
Within ten minutes, I had a hot pizza and a soda for $11 – and since the pizzas can easily feed two, I took half to go. This is the perfect addition to the many amazing lunch spots in Fig Garden Village. Would it be cheesy to say they’ve won a pizza my heart?
What do you look for in a good pizza? Deep dish? Saucy? Foldable? Cracker crust? Cheap and greasy? My top three locations are thousands of miles away, but for now I will press ever onward… taking each day one slice at a time.
